Thai Mama is a new Thai restaurant in Maryland Heights. While it might be a new restaurant, the owner, the menu, and the award-winning service are not new. Thai Mama is owned by Sasimonthon Ongartsutthikul, who also owns Thai Kitchen, which has multiple locations.
Ongartsutthikul started her Thai restaurant chain in 1999 in Maryland Heights. However, Ongartsutthikul sold the business to an unrelated party. The business still exists today after 25 years. She lives in Maryland Heights, and even though she owns five Thai restaurants, she wants to return a portion of her business to her original community. To avoid confusing the public, she called the new location “Thai Mama.”
